Jeppesen ForeFlight has launched ForeFlight Insurance Agency, a new subsidiary that will serve as an aviation insurance broker for general aviation pilots via a new web-based platform.
The Aviation Insurance Marketplace is designed to modernize the process of buying aviation insurance by making it faster, easier, and more transparent, bringing a digitally-optimized approach to an industry that has traditionally relied on phone calls, manual paperwork, and extended wait times for quotes, according to ForeFlight officials.
As part of a partnership between Jeppesen ForeFlight and Old Republic Aerospace, aircraft renters and Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs) will be able to purchase non-owned insurance now, with an expansion into aircraft owner’s insurance from a variety of insurers planned for summer 2026.
“Buying aviation insurance today often feels like it’s still 1999 — phone calls, PDFs in emails, and waiting days or weeks for a quote that might not even be competitive,” said Connor Hailey, Director of Insurance. “Today we’re changing the industry. Pilots should be able to get quotes, compare coverage, and bind a policy in minutes — the same way they buy car insurance. We built the Aviation Insurance Marketplace because no one else has the scale or technology to really modernize this industry, but for us, bringing aviation into the digital era is in our DNA.”
ForeFlight Insurance Agency is licensed as an aviation insurance agency in 44 U.S. states, with licenses in all 50 expected by summer 2026.
