Piston Aircraft Deliveries Climb So Far in 2026

Piston airplane and business jet deliveries were up in the first quarter of 2026, according to the latest figures from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA).

GAMA’s General Aviation Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report shows that aircraft shipments through the first quarter of 2026, when compared to the same period in 2025, saw piston airplanes increase 6.4% to 381, turboprops decrease 3.1% to 124, and business jets increase 14.9% to 162.

The value of airplane deliveries through the first quarter of 2026 was $6.1 billion, an increase of 19.1% from the $5.1 billion in the same time period a year ago.

Helicopter shipments through the first quarter of 2026, when compared to the same period in 2025, saw piston helicopters decrease by seven to 47, while turbine helicopters decreased by 9% to 121.

The value of civil-commercial helicopter deliveries was $789 million, up from $769 million in the first quarter of 2025.
