magniX is now accepting pre-orders for its magniAIR electric engine for experimental and kit planes.

Final sales packages will include options for an integrated magniAIR powertrain including magniX Samson batteries and a full firewall forward kit for select popular kit planes including the powertrain and mounts, according to company officials.

Delivery of the first magniAIR engines is targeted to begin in 2027.

magniX is integrating magniAIR as part of a full magniX powertrain into a Van’s RV-10, scheduled for first flight in early 2027. Later stages in the program will focus on integrating magniAIR into electric trainers and light-sport aircraft under the FAA’s MOSAIC framework and completing type certification, according to company officials.
