During EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026, Tecnam unveiled the name and the first physical design elements of its new aircraft program: The Tecnam Rivale.
The unveiling during the show revealed a 3,000-pound stainless steel sculpture designed to showcase the first defining lines of the Rivale.
The sculpture was coupled with the aircraft’s actual engine cowling, housing the newly announced Continental V6 engine dedicated to the Tecnam Rivale and an MT Propeller, also customized for the Rivale in both shape and livery, according to Tecnam officials. The aircraft will also feature the new Garmin 2000 avionics suite. The complete aircraft is expected to be revealed in 2027.
The Rivale represents a “bold new chapter aimed at redefining the personal flying experience,” according to Tecnam officials.
“What is missing from the experience of personal flying today? And perhaps even more importantly, what should it truly feel like?” asked Giovanni Pascale Langer, Tecnam Managing Director. “To us, personal flying has never been simply about traveling from one place to another. It is about freedom. Emotion. Beauty. Time. And the people you choose to share it with.”
The name “Rivale” points to Tecnam’s biggest rival.
“Our greatest rival has never been another manufacturer. It has always been ourselves,” Pascale Langer stated. “Every new Tecnam has one responsibility: To challenge the Tecnam that came before it…Not simply to create another aircraft, but to create what we believe has been missing from the experience of personal flying.”
Tecnam, now in its 75th year, has more than 8,200 aircraft flying around the world.
