McFarlane Introduces Flex MD23 Digital Meter for Caravans

By General Aviation News Staff · September 4, 2026 · Leave a Comment

McFarlane Aviation has introduced the Flex MD23 Volt/Amp Meter, a digital replacement for the legacy electrical gauges and selector switch found on Cessna 208B Caravans.

Designed to simplify electrical system monitoring, the Flex MD23 combines the volt/amp meter and selector switch into a single 2-inch instrument. Pilots can monitor generator output, battery charging or discharging, system voltage, and other electrical system information through four selectable display configurations, according to company officials.

The FAA STC-approved replacement is designed for Caravans equipped with the original 200A and 300A electrical systems, company officials add.

Each STC kit includes the Flex MD23 instrument, wire harness, blanking plug, Aircraft Flight Manual Supplement, Service Bulletin, and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.
