FAA Approves Archangel AHRS Replacement For Pilatus Fleet

By General Aviation News Staff · October 23, 2026 · Leave a Comment

Archangel Systems AHR150A-1

Duncan Aviation has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the new Archangel Systems Attitude & Heading Reference System (AHRS) to replace aging and obsolete LITEF LCR-92/93 units in Pilatus PC-12s.

The Archangel AHRS upgrade uses existing aircraft architecture, fitting into original LCR-92/93 mounting locations and connecting to existing wiring harnesses without requiring structural modifications, according to company officials. The system incorporates AHR75 and AHR150A inertial sensing units, digital-to-analog converters, and magnetic sensing hardware while maintaining Technical Standard Order (TSO) approval with Level A software. Additionally, the AHR150A features a Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) capable air data system to support future avionics upgrades, company officials noted. Most installations require less than one week to complete.

According to Duncan Aviation officials, repair support for legacy LCR-92/93 units has become increasingly limited, leading to higher maintenance costs and extended downtime.
