K-State Salina Hosts Aviation Explorer Day for High Schoolers

By General Aviation News Staff · October 28, 2026 · Leave a Comment

Kansas State University Salina (K-State Salina) will host Aviation Explorer Day on Nov. 14, 2026, offering students ages 16 and older an introduction to collegiate flight education and industry careers.

According to university officials, the free event is designed for prospective students interested in professional pilot training, aviation maintenance, aviation management, and uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS). Participants will attend informational sessions covering academic programs and career pathways, connect with faculty and alumni, and tour campus aviation facilities and residence halls.

“Aviation is so much bigger than just flying airplanes, and we want students to see that for themselves,” said Tysen Pina, K-State Salina aviation department head. “They’ll get hands-on experiences, meet industry professionals and discover opportunities they may have never considered.”

Advance registration is required before Nov. 14, 2026.
