General Aviation Awards Opens 2027 Nominations

By General Aviation News Staff · October 29, 2026 · Leave a Comment

The General Aviation Awards (GAA) board of directors is accepting applications and nominations for its 2027 recognition program through Nov. 30, 2026.

A cooperative effort between the aviation industry and the FAA, the program highlights aviation professionals in flight instruction, aviation maintenance, and flight safety. GAA officials encourage flight schools, aviation organizations, universities, and Flight Standards District Offices (FSDO) to submit candidates who serve as exemplary models of character, education, and safety.

The selection process begins at the district level through local FSDOs following the Nov. 30 deadline. District winners then advance to regional selection, where finalists move to a national panel of industry professionals and past honorees to determine the 2027 national recipients.

National honorees will participate in a live broadcast, receive a commemorative plaque, and be recognized in July 2027 during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
