Associations Partner On Aircraft Appraisal Education

By General Aviation News Staff · November 3, 2026 · Leave a Comment

The International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA) and the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) have established an educational partnership to expand professional development opportunities across general aviation.

Under the agreement, IADA’s Quarterly Market Reports will become part of ASA’s Machinery & Equipment Valuation Methodology (Aviation Specific) curriculum, according to organization officials. The inclusion gives candidates pursuing ASA’s Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation direct access to market intelligence from IADA’s network of accredited dealers and certified brokers, with IADA board chairs presenting the reports virtually.

In turn, ASA is collaborating with IADA-U to build an online course for brokers and dealers detailing the methodology, documentation standards, and credentialing processes behind professional aircraft appraisals.

“ASA students gain valuable market intelligence, while IADA members gain a better understanding of the disciplined process behind professional aircraft appraisals and how they can contribute to more accurate valuations,” said Lou Seno, executive director of IADA.

“Combining IADA’s market expertise with ASA’s appraisal education helps strengthen professional knowledge and confidence throughout the business aviation industry,” added Guillermo Ortiz de Zarate, chief executive officer of ASA.
