More women in aviation

The number of women pilots has increased since 2000 by 18.6% and the number of those with ATP certificates is up 35%, while the number of male pilots has dropped, according to a review of FAA  statistics by AVweb’s Glenn Pew. Read his full report here.

New AD issued for Cessna seat latches

The FAA has issued an airworthiness directive (AD) that adds steps and clarifies procedures of a superseded AD for inspections and replacement of seat-latching mechanism parts on a variety of Cessna single- and multiengine aircraft, according to a report at AOPA.org, which notes the new AD takes effect June 17.

John Kell dies at 82
