Two die when G58 crashes

A loss of left engine power for undetermined reasons, which resulted in an emergency descent with one engine inoperative and inadvertent collision with transmission lines. Contributing to the accident was the pilot’s inability to respond appropriately to the emergency due to impairment from his previous use of cocaine and multiple other impairing drugs.

In defense of flight suits for general aviation pilots

There seems to be some subtle prejudice against flight suits in GA flying. Maybe some pilots don’t feel we’ve earned the right, not flying combat jets and all. Or maybe it’s something else. I’m not sure what it is, because, arguably, flight suits make sense for any kind of pilot.

Billed as the world’s most remote aviation event, the Greenland Air Trophy pits two teams of pilots — one from Europe and one from the Americas — as they compete in STOL and precision landing competitions after flying across the Atlantic Ocean. The teams will meet in Narsarsuaq, Greenland, June 25, for the competition.
