Lockheed Martin assumed operation of 58 Automated Flight Service Stations (AFSS) Oct. 4, following an eight-month phase-in period that began Feb. 1, when the company was awarded a $1.7 billion contract. More than 1,750 former FAA employees now work for Lockheed Martin.

Kodiak selects Garmin 1000
Quest Aircraft has selected the Garmin 1000 integrated avionics suite as standard equipment for its Kodiak aircraft. The Kodiak, a 10-place utility airplane powered by the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-34 engine, is on track for certification in early 2006. Base price is $1.1 million.
