Complacency plays part in veteran pilot’s mistake

I attribute this incident to complacency on my part. I expected a clearance to land on Runway XXR, based on the winds, and when I saw the newly-resurfaced runway, I went for it. I am embarrassed by the fact that I would make such an error after so many years of flying.

Zara Rutherford has reached the half-way point in her attempt to fly around the world. Weather and mechanical issues have delayed the flight, but she has made it halfway with her Sept. 29 arrival in Alaska.

Student’s stuck foot causes accident

The student pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll due to his foot slipping off the right pedal and becoming stuck between the pedal and fuselage frame, which resulted in a runway excursion and impact with a ditch.
