ASA introduces iPad mini kneeboard
Made of eco-friendly microfiber leather, the kneeboard includes a hook-and-loop adjustable strap, according to company officials. A clip on the front will hold a notepad, and there are elastic loops on each side to hold a pencil, pen, or stylus.
Aeronautical Chart User’s Guide updated
The guide explains all the symbology for FAA sectional, terminal area, flyway planning, helicopter route, en route low- and high-altitude, and oceanic route charts, as well as standard terminal arrival routes, standard instrument departures, and instrument approach procedures.
The Droner’s Manual updated
The new edition incorporates regulation exceptions for recreational flying and introduces The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST). It also offers new information on smart batteries, solving GPS complications, drone photography, remote identification requirements, and more.
ASA updates Air Carrier Operations textbook
The college-level text is used for Air Carrier Flight Operations and Airline Operations courses, as well as Airline Dispatcher Training courses, according to ASA officials. It also is “excellent preparation for airline interviews and initial airline pilot training,” they noted.
ASA introduces Push-to-Talk Switch
The switch can be used in place of fumbling with a hand-held mic for all pilot communications, according to ASA officials, who note it is compatible with most aircraft radios and intercoms.
The Complete Remote Pilot updated
Now in its second edition is “The Complete Remote Pilot,” a book for those interested in obtaining a Remote Pilot Certificate, which is required to operate drones for commercial use.
An Illustrated Guide to Flying published
“This is an exciting introduction to flying for aspiring pilots of all ages, revealing the mysteries of flight and explaining how pilots deal with their aircraft and the elements through which they fly,” ASA officials said
ASA introduces new Flight Timer
Designed by pilots, the timer features an LCD backlight display with auto shut-off and multi-function clock (AM/PM, Universal Coordinated “Zulu” time, and military time options) with a reset function to prevent accidental resets, according to ASA officials.
