The pilot’s failure to maintain airplane control during the go-around, which resulted in impact with terrain. Contributing to the accident was the pilot’s impairment from the effects of alcohol consumption.

I was contacted by the company doing the upgrade, Bevan Aviation in Wichita, that the exact same year and model was in for nearly the same upgrade. Upon a little further investigation the serial numbers were one number apart: CE-565 and mine, CE-566. Since then the other owner and I have become very good friends and are both members of American Bonanza Society.”
