Picture of the Day: Never too young to do an annual
Richard Hrezo submitted this photo and note: “My 8-year-old grandson John has racked up 45 flights in my RV-7A and doesn’t hesitate to earn his keep with a screwdriver and youthful flexibility. He loves everything airplane and aviation and is a ‘good stick.’ This allows ‘Pop’ to sip coffee while those access panels come off.”
In defense of flight suits for general aviation pilots
There seems to be some subtle prejudice against flight suits in GA flying. Maybe some pilots don’t feel we’ve earned the right, not flying combat jets and all. Or maybe it’s something else. I’m not sure what it is, because, arguably, flight suits make sense for any kind of pilot.
Feeling adventurous?
Billed as the world’s most remote aviation event, the Greenland Air Trophy pits two teams of pilots — one from Europe and one from the Americas — as they compete in STOL and precision landing competitions after flying across the Atlantic Ocean. The teams will meet in Narsarsuaq, Greenland, June 25, for the competition.
New group advocates for GA at KSAV
A redevelopment project at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (KSAV) in Georgia has become the impetus for a new organization: The Savannah Area Aviation Association (SAAA).

I believe the definition of “leave it better than you found it” should simply point to the Recreational Aviation Foundation.
Unleaded fuels increase risk of misfueling
Addressing that risk early is the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), which has updated its Safety 1st General Aviation Misfueling Prevention Program, a free, online training resource for pilots, line service professionals, and others involved in aircraft refueling.
