EAA Chapter 534
Ray Aviation Scholarship recipient now a private pilot
The Ray Aviation Scholarship provides $10,000 for the cost of flight instruction. The Ray Scholarship fund awards 100 of these scholarships each year to be given to a deserving young person through selected EAA chapters. Rosie’s award represents the third consecutive year EAA Chapter 534 has been able to award this scholarship.
Neighbors pitch in to grow aviation
Not every EAA chapter has the resources to have a youth aviation program, but that doesn’t mean they can’t help grow the next generation of pilots and mechanics.
Building a better mouse trap
The EZ-UP Inspection Cover Kit, a new and improved inspection cover for fabric-covered aircraft, was developed by Marty Harris, who developed it after “40 years of fighting traditional riveted covers in six of my fabric airplanes.” He’s given the design rights to EAA Chapter 534 in Leesburg, Florida, with all proceeds from the kit sales going to the chapter’s youth aviation program.
New flying club in the works at KLEE
The new flying club, a spin-off from EAA Chapter 534 at Leesburg International Airport in Florida, will start with a Cessna 150.
Christmas comes early for EAA chapter
Small changes to a hangar — like new lights and a new air compressor — makes the mission of inspiring kids to learn to fly, build and repair aircraft just a little bit easier this holiday season.
