In a blog posted on Monday, December 19, fuels expert Ben Visser incorrectly stated that Exxon Mobil had stopped manufacturing 100LL for the general aviation marketplace. In fact, Exxon Mobil continues to manufacture 100LL for distribution under brand names other than its own. Exxon Mobil will cease selling 100LL under Avitat-branded FBOs. Says Ben Visser, “Sorry if I misled anyone.”
Fargo Jet Center Inc (KFAR) has joined the Avfuel network of branded FBO dealers.
For the first time, Avfuel’s online retail store, shopAvfuel.com – with its inventory of aviation fuel related equipment, parts, deicing fluid and quality assurance materials – isavailable to the general aviation community.Until now, the site was exclusive to Avfuel-branded dealers.
The site also recently broadened its payment options to allow customers to make their online purchases using all major credit cards and a variety of other methods. Payment methods include MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover. UPS Ground shipments are free on all Continental U.S. orders.
Avfuel-branded dealers will continue to make their purchases through their individual accounts with Avfuel, and receive direct billing and special pricing.
“The new payment system is so easy, and it extends our retail presence to ground support and maintenance teams, corporate flight departments, pilots, FBOs and all aviation companies, said Marci Ammerman, an Avfuel spokesman.
