Want to give something out of the ordinary? Try Runway 01

By General Aviation News Staff · November 18, 2005 ·

Looking for hard-to-find aviation greeting cards?

Then look no farther than Runway 01, which has added 15 new products to its lineup, including 10 new Christmas cards.

“By popular demand, we are offering our best deal ever — a 10-card assorted pack,” says Tracy Nihda, who owns the company with her husband, Rick. “Every pack will be different from our vast collection of new and limited supply aviation cards for the very attractive price of $14.99 (Canadian).”

New hard-to-find Christmas and greeting cards include selections from the Kersten brothers, Warren Green, Britain’s Robert Farr, Cher and three new selections from Nixon Galloway.

Also new this year is the Bell 212 Helicopter card, “Just in time,” from Bruce Hakli, plus four new selections from Alaska’s Priscilla Messner-Patterson: “Cool Birds,” “Chipping Ice,” “Closed for the Season” and “Waiting for Spring.” Rounding out the new card offerings is “Glacier Flying–de Havilland Trio” by Sharon Rajnus of Oregon.

Runway 01 will continue to donate part of the proceeds from its card sales to the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) Neil Armstrong Scholarship Fund, which helps financially challenged youths learn to fly. For more information: COPANational.org.

Runway also offers hard-to-find aviation ornaments (at 50% off), books, Air Force flags, T-shirts and nightshirts, coffee mugs, jewelry, Italian charms, movies, navigation rulers and protractors, all metal business card holders and wall mounted multi-hocks. There’s also a candle-powered unit that casts large shadows of a helicopter on the wall of a dark room.

The company also has reduced the prices of 55 of its products for this holiday season. For example, the T-3 cockpit timer was recently reduced by 20% to $39.99 CAD (while supplies last). The unit has all of the timing functions pilots need: fuel management, leg time, approach-navaid timer, clock (set on gmt), and a stopwatch. It features visual and audible indicators, individual buttons for quick setting and large displays.
