Although the majority of an RV is metal, there is a surprising amount of fiberglass work to do before you fly. You can improve your fiberglass technique with an intensive, two-day course offered by Synergy Air at the Eugene, Ore., airport Oct. 6-7 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
The course will cover the basics of fiberglass materials: cloth, resins and fillers; then move on to all the materials, techniques and tricks necessary to finish your canopy, cowling, landing gear fairings and wingtips to a professional level.
Even though Synergy Air specializes in RVs, those building Sonex, Glastar and many other designs need the same skills and are welcome.
Cost: $350.
