Mountain High’s newest offering is the single-place EDS-O2D1 digital “Pulse Demand” FADOC Oxygen Delivery System, which bridges the gap between portable Constant-Flow devices, built-in-panel and pressurized oxygen systems, according to Mountain High officials.
The system, with the new patented redesigned electronic “Pulse Demand” oxygen delivery system, enables GA pilots to fly at pressure altitudes up to 25,000 feet with safety and comfort. Different from “standard” Constant- Flow systems, the EDS O2D1 wastes no oxygen during the two-thirds of the breathing cycle (exhaling and pausing before inhaling again) when oxygen is not being delivered to the lungs. The system operates for up to 125 hours on two AA alkaline batteries and there is no battery current drain in the off position.
A system consists of an oxygen cylinder (a choice of sizes), regulator, low pressure service line, the EDS O2D1 unit, cannula, face mask, tote bag, batteries and a cylinder carry bag. A complete single place system starts at under $1,000. A variety of options are available to meet the specific needs of the individual pilot.
