What is happening with flight service?
My first complaint is with the phone service. I am so tired of trying to talk to an automated phone system. “Say briefer.” What am I — a 2 year old? I said it 10 times and the stupid automated piece of junk doesn’t work and yet I still have to play these games with this stupid computer phone system. Who thinks we want this?
Yesterday I had several flights. I filed several flight plans. When my first flight plan did not show up on FlightAware.com, I filed it again. After several legs ATC only picked up one flight plan. Coming out of Muncie, Indiana, after the tower was closed, ATC was frustrated. I was about the 100th person without a flight plan. ATC was quite frustrated with flight service.
