KERSHNER’S FAMILY PROUD OF WHAT HE ADDED TO AVIATION

By General Aviation News Staff · January 11, 2008 ·

Ace Aerobatic School, founded by William K. Kershner, closed on the day of his death, Jan. 8, 2007. Catherine Cavagnaro, highly thought of by my father as a pilot and aerobatic instructor, has her own school, Sewanee Aerobatic School.

I was honored to deliver my father’s Aerobat, N7557L, to the National Air and Space Museum. I never heard Dad refer to his plane as anything other than Two Loops Lautrec, nor did I ever hear him correct anyone calling his airplane “Two Loops.”

Our family is very proud of what Bill Kershner added to aviation through his love of flying and flight instruction. It always brought a smile to Dad’s face when I told him I’d flown with someone who’d used his books.

WILLIAM C. KERSHNER

Sewanee, Tenn.
