A new airport in Rowan County, Kentucky, has helped facilitate the medical care of an ill 4-year-old boy.
According to a story in The Morehead News:
The trip by Air Methods full-service air medical transport system would not have been possible at the old airport at Farmers, according to airport board chairman Jim Fluty. But the general aviation 5,500-foot runway at the Morehead-Rowan County Clyde A. Thomas Regional Airport, which can accommodate larger aircraft, allowed the specialized medical care.
Otto Lemaster, father of Hunter Lemaster, said not all areas of Kentucky have such easy access to an airport like Rowan citizens. “I’m really thankful we have an airport that is as easily accessible for my son’s needs,” he said.
