Eclipse Aerospace is expected to open its doors in Albuquerque Sept. 1, marking the first step in reviving bankrupt Eclipse Aviation, according to a story in the Albuquerque Journal.
A bankruptcy court judge in Delaware approved the sale of the defunct jet maker’s assets to Charleston, S.C.-based Eclipse Aerospace for $40 million Aug. 20. The sale is expected to be finalized by the end of this month, according to Mayor Martin Chavez said, who was quoted as saying:
“Eclipse was more important than jobs — it was a symbol of Albuquerque. To me, the company’s loss was horrific for the city.”
