Helen Woods of Laurel, Md., is the newest CFI to earn her Master Instructor accreditation from the National Association of Flight Instructors. Recently renewing his Master Instructor accreditation was Russell Still of Cumming, Ga.
Less than 300 flight instructors nationwide are accredited as NAFI Master Instructors, according to association officials. The national accreditation, recognized by the FAA, is earned through a rigorous process of continuing professional activity and peer review. Much like a flight instructor’s certificate, it must be renewed biennially. It is also rigorous enough to qualify as a manner of renewal of a flight instructor certificate.
