Eclipse rises

By Janice Wood · December 29, 2009 ·

2009 was a stormy year for New Mexico’s budding aviation industry, when most companies faced a significant drop in demand for products and services, according to a story in the New Mexico Business Weekly.

But the clouds started to part a bit by fall, when Eclipse Aviation arose from the ashes with new owners, who relaunched as Eclipse Aerospace LLC in September. The story quotes Bill McMillan, co-founder of the New Mexico Aviation/Aerospace Association as saying:

“It was obviously a challenging year, but overall, the aviation sector seems to have weathered the economic storm. Some companies have struggled more than others, but a few are picking up business and starting to re-hire employees.”
