Hobart introduces EZ-TIG welder

By Janice Wood · January 4, 2010 ·

EZ-TIG 165iHobart recently introduced its EZ-TIG 165i welder. Designed for first-time welders, the welder has a list price of $1,617 and features just two controls — one for selecting metal type and one for selecting thickness.

Built with inverter technology, the EZ-TIG 165i is portable, weighing 50 lbs. It connects to 230 V, 1-phase power using the attached standard 6-50P 3-pronged plug. The EZ-TIG 165i can weld material as thin as 22-gauge and as thick as 3/16-in. in a single pass with its 10- to 165-amp output.

The welder comes with a remote foot control and 12.5 ft. Legacy 17 Weldcraft TIG torch, (finger-tip amperage control sold separately.)
