By Janice Wood · January 24, 2010 ·

flightprepInventors Roger Stenbock and Kyle Everson were recently awarded U.S. Patent #7640098 for FlightPrep’s online flight planner. The invention, originally filed in 2001 and assigned to Stenbock & Everson Inc., describes how online flight planning is possible using just an Internet browser.

FlightPrep’s Online Planner is recognized for the ability to display charts and routes interactively from data stored on an Internet server. The invention cites the ability for the user to interactively modify routes without requiring the download of the entire chart after each change. The patent also covers the ability to receive flight plans from an Internet server as well as the ability to file flight plans generated by an Internet server with a travel regulating agency.

FlightPrep, a division of Stenbock & Everson, Inc,. was founded by Stenbock and Everson in 1997. Creators of the patented FlightPrep Online Flight Planner, Polaris 990 personal GPS and cabin entertainment mapping systems, FlightPrep offers both software-based and Internet-hosted flight planning solutions.

A FlightPrep Online Flight Planner Annual subscription is $149.99.
