TFR in place for Super Bowl

By Janice Wood · February 2, 2010 ·

Planning to fly to Miami to watch the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV? If so, plan your flight to arrive before the temporary flight restriction goes into effect, officials at the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association suggest.

The FAA has issued a notam restricting flight within a 30-nm radius of the area. Centered on the Fort Lauderdale VOR (FLL) 218° radial at 7.6 miles, the TFR will extend from the surface up to 17,999 feet msl. The TFR will be in effect from 4 p.m. until 11:59 p.m. Feb. 7.
