Courting Embry-Riddle

By Janice Wood · January 5, 2011 ·

Officials in two cities, Rockford, Illinois, and Houston, Texas, are busy these days courting Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to put its third campus in their cities. A recent report from the Rockford Register Star says that city is going after Embry-Riddle “like it’s rush week at a college,” while Houston officials say it’s “all hands on deck” to win the campus, which the story notes “promises to bring a residential campus with 1,000 students, 250 faculty and staffers, a flight school and a future supply of labor for clusters of aerospace companies that Houston and Rockford want to be a bigger part of their economies.” Read the full story here.
