NextGen ‘high priority’ in 2012 budget

President Barack Obama’s 2012 budget proposal will give a “high priority” to modernizing the nation’s air traffic control system, according to an Air Transport World report, which quotes  Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood: “The technology we have in our cars these days is more up to date than what we have in our cockpits,” adding the satellite-based NextGen system is “a very important priority for President Obama.”
