Pilotvids.com launches

By Janice Wood · April 6, 2011 ·

Pilotvids.com is an aviation website that was built to provide two distinct services. The first is purely for entertainment, as users can browse hundreds of aviation related videos, images and audio files. The second was to allow manufacturers a place to showcase their products to a targeted market, according to company officials.

Imagine shopping for a GPS, EFIS or other aviation product that you would like to know more about. If you can’t physically touch the item, then a product demo video is the next best thing. The website’s developers noted   manufacturers typically provide demo videos on their sites and consumers must go to each site separately to compare products. Pilotvids.com has provided a portal where manufacturers can post their videos or product images for free. Product manufacturers can also create their own channel and have complete control over its content. The only stipulation is that the videos or images be placed in the “Products” category on the site.
