After a five-year hiatus, the St. Augustine Air Show returns to the Northeast Florida Regional Airport Memorial Day Weekend, May 28 – 29, with a special salute to veterans.
Proceeds from this year’s air show benefit United Way of St. Johns County, the Wounded Warrior Project, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and Naval Special Warfare Foundation (Navy SEALS). Northrop Grumman Corp., one of the area’s largest employers, is a major sponsor of the event.
]”This year’s air show revives a tradition of vintage air shows that had been held annually at the Northeast Florida Regional Airport dating back to 1967,” said show organizer Craig Fordem. “This family-fun event promises to provide exciting entertainment for the whole family with performances by wing-walkers, perilous biplane stunts, flying comedy acts and precision aerobatic teams, as well as an all-women’s parachute team, a fire-breathing monster called Robosaurus, an airplane versus jet engine powered truck race and tactical demonstrations by a U.S. Air Force F-16.”
In honor of the Centennial of Naval Aviation this year and Northrop Grumman’s 80 years of supporting naval aviation, the first 2,000 attendees each day can stop by the Northrop Grumman booth and pick up a free commemorative poster while supplies last.
