After weeks of preparation, setting broadcast equipment, testing and the success of the pre-inaugural show on Sept. 28, the WIMC-DB (IMC Radio project) is taking off the ground and is ready for its first worldwide live call-in Aviation Talk Show. The first transmission will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m. EST for one hour.
According to IMC Club officials, the radio show called “Plane Talk” is going to be available live on their website, iPhone, iPad and Facebook, and later as a Podcast on iTunes and recording online. The recording of the half hour pre-inaugural show is already available online.
“Plane Talk” is hosted by Jon King Roberts — pilot, musician, entertainer — and Radek Wyrzykowski, president of the IMC Club and a CFI whose instruction is focused on aviation safety and pilot proficiency.
During the program they present hosts’ opinions and commentary about current General Aviation issues and news events with some dose of humor. They also explore all aspects of flying, aviation training, proficiency and safety. “Plain Talk” plans to have remote guests from different fields of aviation including expert and celebrity flight instructors. You can call them live with any aviation related question, suggestion, problem or opinion.
According to Roberts: “We will try to answer your questions about flying on the air live and have some fun doing it. This is a call-in show but, watch out, you can call us, but we can and will also call you.”
“I think that we are the first opinion and commentary audio media discussing current aviation issues and providing direct forum for pilots and non-pilots to express their concerns and ask questions. If we are going to reenergize the shrinking GA community we need to bring personal social contact back as well as reach out beyond our immediate group,” said Radek Wyrzykowski.
