The executive director of the National Gay Pilots Association, Steven Moore, was killed Monday, Oct. 27, in a crash of his Mooney near Boulder, Colo.
According to a report in The Denver Post, the crash happened about 7:30 a.m. north of the airport. Fire and law enforcement crews were on scene about 8 a.m.
The plane hit the roadway propeller first, caught fire, and came to rest in a ditch, the newspaper quotes Cmdr. Jeff Hendry of the county sheriff’s office. The plane was taking off when it crashed, authorities said.
Officials with the National Gay Pilots Association say they are “absolutely devastated” by the news of Moore’s death. The group’s Facebook page notes that the organization will feature a tribute to Moore in the winter issue of its magazine, NGPA News.
Moore was a Denver-based first officer for regional airline Express Jet.

Why is there a Flying Farmers Association,Black Airman Association,or any other aviation related association? You bigots must consider yourselves the arbiters of who should associate and probably consider yourselves real Americans .

Not even the tragic death of a fellow pilot will stop haters to post there bigoted garbage. We lost a dear friend and kindly ask the editors to turn comments off for this article.
Thanks
these people now want too much recognition. I don’t like having their beliefs shoved down my throat. I am sorry the pilot died in the accident. I would not wish that on anyone.
Why is there even such a thing as a “Gay Pilots Association?”
I agree. What does your sexual preference have to do with flying? Why is a “special” association needed? I guess I will start my own flying association because I am left handed
Why is there even such a thing as the “third class medical”?
