Joe, I do feel very lucky indeed. That entire flight was a surreal experience. My wingcam shot hundreds of time lapse photos, so the first two shots are just two I picked out of many great shots. I flew Alt hold at 1000′ and was able to sit back and enjoy the views. More photos are on my website at the link I added.

That water is REALLY different than the coastal waters around Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest. It looks like a fine adventure and a great day for flying!

Thanks Gary, yes it was a great day for flying down the Keys. I departed very early morning from Lantana (LNA) in the West Palm Beach area, where I based my plane while visiting there. I flew west and under the airspaces around Miami. By the time I visited in Marathon and flew up the west coast to Ft Myers, fueled up and headed East over the sugarcane fields, south of Lake Okeechobee, back to LNA, it was around 1pm and the thunderstorm clouds were building up fast, so my timing (or luck) was good. My home base is KAVQ near Tucson, AZ, so we were pretty far from home down at MTH… 🙂 Jim
