Jeppesen teams with Mooney

By General Aviation News Staff · August 2, 2016 ·

Jeppesen and Mooney International have teamed to provide Jeppesen NavData and digital charts as part of the purchase process of new Mooney aircraft.

As part of Mooney’s “Pilot Perfect” customer service philosophy, delivery of new aircraft will now include pre-selected Jeppesen digital flight information on board and ready for use in flight.

In addition to Jeppesen navigation data, Mooney aircraft equipped with Garmin G1000 avionics will receive a PilotPak data bundle that also includes supplemental databases, including obstacle, terrain, SafeTaxi and airport diagrams.

“Having pre-loaded Jeppesen data on board at the point of delivery provides pilots with everything they need to take to the skies immediately,” said Dirk Vander Zee, vice president sales and marketing for Mooney International. “Pilots worldwide trust Jeppesen NavData and charts and this service provides additional value to our customers and eliminates a step in the process to operate their new airplane after taking ownership.”

Jeppesen flight information will now be included with the purchase of the new Mooney Acclaims and Ovation Ultras, the latest models from the Kerrville, Texas company.

“We are dedicated to serving the needs of the general aviation community and we are pleased to team with Mooney International to deliver industry-leading data through a truly turn-key experience,” said Reggie Arsenault, director, Jeppesen General Aviation Client Management. “We have simplified access to navigation data that is customized per the unique needs of every pilot owner and have eliminated the need for pilots to go through the data purchase process on their own.”

Jeppesen NavData is developed from a comprehensive aviation database, which is composed of more than 1 million records. To ensure accuracy, Jeppesen flight information analysts edit and verify approximately 150,000 database transactions generated from worldwide aviation data source documents during every 28-day revision cycle.
