Pictures of the day: A good day to practice

By General Aviation News Staff · August 10, 2016 ·

David Baldwin sent in these photos of an F-22 Raptor and P-51 Mustang, and a LockheedT-33 Shooting Star, snapped July 29, 2016, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, during an Arctic Thunder Special Needs and Family Day.

“Special Needs and Family Day was a by-invitation-only event designed to accommodate those with a physical, intellectual, or emotional condition, as well as the elderly or anybody who may have difficulty getting through the crowds during the Arctic Thunder Open House, July 30 and 31,” he explained. “The Exceptional Family Member Program coordinators on JBER invited people in assisted living facilities to attend, which also was a good day for the performers to practice for the weekend 2016 Arctic Thunder Airshow!”
