McFarlane acquires P. Ponk Aviation STCs

By General Aviation News Staff · November 20, 2025 · Leave a Comment

McFarlane Aviation has acquired several Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) from P. Ponk Aviation, a developer of high-performance upgrades for legacy Cessna aircraft, including the Cessna 170, 180, 182, 185, and 206.

The acquisition complements McFarlane’s line of PMA airframe parts for these same aircraft, according to company officials.

“It is with great sadness that I announce the recent passing of my husband and partner Steven Knopp,” said Norma Knopp, Co-Owner of P Ponk Aviation. “He would want our customers — our friends — to continue receiving P Ponk parts with the same product support and service they have come to depend upon.”

The acquired STCs include:

  • PSK1101: Main Landing Gear Kit (Cessna 170, 180, 185, L-19)
  • PPA1201: Inboard Landing Gear Attach Angle (Cessna 170, 180, 185)
  • PPA1301-1 / -2: Outboard Gear Box Brackets, LH/RH (Cessna 170, 180, 185)
  • PPA1401: Rudder-Elevator Hinge Bearing (Cessna 180, 182, 185, 206)

These STC parts are now available for purchase through the McFarlane Aviation website.
