Zenith Aircraft Building Workshop Set for Yuma

By General Aviation News Staff · January 23, 2026 · Leave a Comment

Zenith Aircraft Company is taking its hands-on kit aircraft building workshop on the road to Yuma, Arizona, in February.

The two-day workshop will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, and Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Somerton Airport (54AZ), in Arizona.

Also on March 1 local organizers and Zenith will host an informal regional fly-in for Zenith aircraft owners, flyers, and enthusiasts. Aircraft will be available for demo flights, Zenith officials added.

“We already have an active community of Zenith aircraft builders and pilots spread throughout Southwest Arizona and southern California,” said Sebastien Heintz, Zenith Aircraft’s president. “We look forward to seeing many of them and their flying Zenith projects.”

Zenith builder Larry Nelson is the local contact and host for the event. You can reach him at [email protected].

Zenith Aircraft’s hands-on workshops are primarily for first-time kit airplane builders and have become popular with sport aviation enthusiasts who are considering building their own aircraft and are unsure if they have the required skills, workspace, and tools. During the workshop each participant builds their own Zenith aircraft rudder tail section from a standard Zenith kit.

Standard workshop fees are $375 (or $425 for the CH 750 Super Duty model) and include the complete rudder kit for a Zenith aircraft.
