King Schools will release its “Cleared for Multiengine Flight Instructing Course” in August 2026, completing the set of airplane CFI courses that includes Single-Engine CFI, Instrument CFI (CFII), and now Multiengine CFI (MEI) in the Cessna Part 141 Flight Training System.
The new MEI course is integrated with the Cessna Course Tracking Application (CTA), allowing flight schools to track the learning instructor’s progress for their MEI rating right along with the rest of their training, according to King Schools officials.
The MEI course covers four sections:
- Systems, Planning and Ground Operations
- Emergency Procedures and Multiengine Aerodynamics
- Flight Operations and Takeoff/Landing Instruction
- Maneuvers and Performance Instruction.
“Flight schools now have one consistent set of curricula to take a pilot from zero time all the way to their first professional job, enabling a stint as a multiengine instructor to build that critical multiengine time,” said Barry Knuttila, CEO of King Schools.
Like the rest of King Schools’ Cessna courses, the integrated course includes lifetime access, free automatic updates, integration with King School’s study apps, and flight school tracking that follows a candidate’s progress from their first lesson through their checkride, he added.
