The latest issue of the FlySafe Flyer from the General Aviation Joint Safety Committee shares some good news about the general aviation fatal accident rate for fiscal year 2026.
As of Aug. 24, 2026, the estimated GA fatal accident rate is at 0.52 accidents per 100,000 flight hours, which is well below the yearly reduction target of 0.91. The fiscal year began Oct. 1, 2025, and runs through Sept. 30, 2026.
