CNBC Shines a Spotlight on UCM’s Aviation Program

By General Aviation News Staff · October 13, 2026 · Leave a Comment

A recent episode of “Now We Know! with Steve Guttenberg,” on CNBC, featured the University of Central Missouri Department of Aviation, spotlighting how aviation education is preparing the next generation of pilots and aerospace professionals.

The University of Central Missouri operates Max B. Swisher Skyhaven Airport (KRCM) in Warrensburg, Missouri, the only university-owned airport in the state. It serves as the training ground for UCM aviation students while also functioning as Johnson County’s community airport — making it an example of how a university airport can support both aviation education and a broader local aviation community, according to university officials

The Now We Know! segment gives viewers an inside look at the training, advanced simulation technology, and hands-on flight instruction that help students develop the skills needed for careers in aviation.

“As demand for qualified pilots and aviation personnel continues to grow, programs like the UCM Department of Aviation play a vital role in strengthening the future workforce,” university officials said.

From classroom learning to real-world flight experience, the feature demonstrates how aviation education combines technical precision, leadership, and decision-making under pressure, officials added.

Hosted by actor, author, and businessman, Steve Guttenberg, Know We Know! is designed to inspire the next generation of knowledge seekers and viewers around the country. Each episode features up to four industry experts who provide their own perspective on the topic at hand.
