The best investment you can make in aviation
Investing in your health ensures you can continue flying, but it also pays other dividends, such as lower insurance premiums and a longer, pain-free life.
Once a pilot, always a pilot?
After a short hop, I am at my home base again, Whiteman Airport (KWHP) in Los Angeles, and all is well. I do not know yet that this will be the last time I have taken to the skies as PIC. After more than 30 years of flying it was over. Just like that.

World War II veteran takes to the air in SBD Dive Bomber 80 years later

Miralles, 98, was reliving his wartime experience in a restored SBD operated by CAF Airbase Georgia in Peachtree City, Georgia. According to Miralles, the flight “was calm compared to what I was used to.”
Under The Wire Fly-In: Stearmans and more
The annual fly-in includes lots of good food, including Texas BBQ, a Hangar Party, a flour bombing contest, and a Stearman fly-over of a local football game.
More thorough preflights needed after maintenance
Lately I’ve been noticing more reports on accidents and incidents that happen on the first flight after maintenance. An FAA video offers lots of tips on how to make sure this doesn’t happen to you.
