Bob Bement submitted this photo and note: “I was on a cross-country flight from Flagstaff, Arizona, to my home base of Vale, Oregon (S49). I had to be above 14,500 feet to stay clear of the Grand Canyon airspace. I snapped this picture of the Grand Canyon. I was in my 1959 Cessna 182. I am a 1934 model and so we had 145 years of experience to make this flight. I will celebrate my 86th birthday on Dec. 20, 2020.”

Her first flying experiences began when she would fly with me in a C-120 or 172 or DC-3 when she was 3 years old. She has flown with me in many different airplanes over the years, including a trip to Rome with me on the AB-330. Always my favorite passenger. She has always loved flying and pursued flying as a student until she decided on another career path.”
