Student pilot causes another pilot to go-around

Upon receiving something outside my normal experience, I could have requested a change in pattern and reminded tower of student status, which may have changed tower’s approach to the line-up.

Rick’s Cub, in the distance, is the plane our dad taught both of us to fly in the 1970s. Dad restored both of these Cubs. Both have been in the family since the late 1960s. Our mom was also a pilot and dad taught her in a J-3.”
