While on final out of my peripheral a green orb entered. I couldn’t believe my eyes: A multi-engine plane was nearly right on top of me descending down.

As a reminder, FAR Part 91.3 is titled “Responsibility and authority of the pilot in command.” Part (a) states, “The pilot in command of an aircraft is directly responsible for, and is the final authority, as to the operation of that aircraft.”

Winning through failure

Frankly — and I think it is long past time the following statement should come into common usage — failure isn’t such a bad thing. Accept failure as a periodic occurrence. Welcome it, even. For failure only comes our way when we aim high and fall somewhat short.
