In addition to the regional winners, 32 flight schools and 65 instructors have earned distinguished awards, according to AOPA officials.

The invitation is part of a memorandum of understanding that the county signed with the FAA on Feb. 7, 2023, that suspended an ongoing FAA investigation into alleged grant violations at the two airports, county officials said, noting the memorandum also “sets forth a framework for participation in the demonstration project.”
New video addresses ‘pain point’ for IFR pilots
“Beyond Proficient: Stabilized IFR Approach captures the critical phases of flying an instrument approach from approach clearance to landing or transitioning to a missed approach,” said ASI Senior Director Paul Deres. “In addition, the video offers practical tips on how to identify and deal with task saturation and regain situational awareness on the approach.”

My new role with the AOPA Foundation is once again something audacious, something that has never been done on a large scale. I now hold the title of High School Aero Club Liaison, which gives me the freedom to work with kids, parents, teachers, administrators, airport administrators, and community leaders from coast to coast to help them create aero clubs where kids can get into aviation in a meaningful way.
