Alaska vacation leads to internship for Florida twins
When Sean and Wells Muraskin vacationed in Alaska in the summer of 2021, the highlight of the trip was flying floatplanes with Terry Cartee of Acme Cub Training. But that’s nothing compared to the summer of 2022, when the twins will work as interns at the Alaska seaplane base, flying with Cartee and learning maintenance skills from Steve Williams after working during the day.

Reading through the latest “Fast Five” newsletter from Sporty’s Pilot Shop, the video of the week caught my eye: New behind-the-scenes footage from Sporty’s new Tailwheel Checkout Course of pilots from Talkeetna Air Taxi flying a deHavilland Canada DHC-3 and landing on a glacier in Denali National Park.
Picture of the Day: Alaska Fall Sunset on the shores of Cook Inlet
Tom Rollman submitted this photo and note: “This is my 1955 170B tied down on our family’s private strip on the east side of Cook Inlet north of Nikiski, Alaska. The strip is just above the tide line and below the bluff. It provides access to our cabins via an hour flight from Anchorage vs. the old five hour drive. This picture was taken during a moose hunting trip.
